offer，provide和supply都有“供给、提供”的意思，但用法不同。
1、provide指有远见，为应付意外、紧急情况等作好充分准备而“供给、提供”，可用于provide sb.（with sth.）或provide sth.（for sb.）结构。
he persuaded other people to provide money or to give help.
他说服别人提供钱或给予帮助。
the school provided food for the students. 学校为学生提供伙食。
they provided us with all the books we need.
他们为我们提供所需要的所有书籍。
we are here to provide a service for the public.

2、supply通常指定期“供应”，强调替代或补充所需物品，常用于supply sb. with sth.或supply sth. to sb.结构。

in britain milk is supplied to each house in bottles.

尤指长时间地定期供应所需或想要之物，多用于 supply sb with sth 和 supply sth to sb 结构中。

he offered to go instead of me. 他主动提出代替我去。
the manager offered him a cigarette.
经理拿了一支烟给他。

他给我提供了避难处。
he offered her a good job, but she turned it down.

注 意：
provide不如supply常用，但前者可跟双宾语，而后者无此用法。有时它们可互换，可说provide/supply sth. to sb.，也可说provide/supply sb. with sth.。

注意：support指支持或赞成，如 support your idea,
支撑或扶持，support by sb.。
4、afford v. [正式]提供，给予
多指提供抽象的东西，可后接双宾语。
